Why offer Yoga in the workplace? 

Leading edge companies are recognizing the value of yoga in the workplace and are offering classes to their employees as part of their stress reduction and corporate wellness programs during the workday. According to Yoga Journal, such companies include Chase Manhattan Bank, Forbes, HBO, GE, MTV and Wall Street brokerage firms are all investing in the wellness of their employees.  Additionally, Nike, Apple, Harpo, AT&T, Motorola, Google, and General Motors and many more have all invested in Yoga based wellness programs.

The cost of lost productivity due to stress and mental health within the workplace in Canada amounts to $33 billion dollars annually according to this Mcleans article.

Yoga in the work place makes it easy and accessible for employees to participate. One of the many benefits of Yoga is developing an awareness of the effects of daily stress, and the skills to manage these events. Regular practice is known to bring improved health in mind and body, increased energy, well-being and productivity.

Cornerstone Yoga in your workplace:

Bring us directly into your workplace for ease and accessibility.  Classes can be done in any quiet space such a boardroom or an amenities room.  Classes range from 30 to 60 minutes, 1 to 5 times per week, they can be scheduled before, during, or after the workday, as well as during conferences.

Employees do not need to have any experience as each class is custom designed to suit all individual needs.  We offer an alignment based class that considers all human factors such as pre-existing injuries and health concerns.

A combination of the following can be included in any program:

  • Work-injury prevention exercises
  • Desk and chair exercises
  • Simple physical stretching and breathing practices
  • Concentration and focusing methods

The students experience the foundational practices of concentration, breathing, physical movement and relaxation techniques.

Cost Options:

Companies have the choice to offer a full subsidized program with full coverage for their employees; a partial subsidized program where the fees are divided between the employer and employee or independent where the employer would provide the space and the employees would pay for the classes.
